Eighteen-year-old Takeru Kinoshita is transported to another world alongside his entire class. While his classmates are blessed with prestigious jobs such as Hero and Sage, Takeru receives something that sounds completely useless in a fantasy world: “Construction Company.” With no combat ability whatsoever, Takeru is quickly dismissed as a failure and sent to become lord of Gaurea, an isolated frontier fortress with absolutely miserable living conditions. But after his unusual job awakens, Takeru discovers that “Construction Company” is anything but useless. His ability allows him to reproduce modern Japanese construction techniques and facilities, from toilets, hot-water systems and air conditioning to lighting, security cameras and entire buildings. Unable to tolerate the fortress’s filthy and uncomfortable conditions, Takeru gets to work. Before long, his neglected castle is being transformed into a comfortable modern home, complete with conveniences nobody in this world has ever imagined. And his construction abilities have uses beyond creature comforts. Modern security systems can defend against monsters, improved sanitation can transform an entire town, and infrastructure such as running water could revolutionize his territory. While his classmates pursue conventional paths as legendary Heroes, Takeru sets out to build a comfortable new life of his own, one renovation project at a time.
