Essential storage
KOMA SCANS uses cookies and local storage needed for authentication, security, reading progress, audience integrity and interface preferences. These functions are available whether or not you accept advertising.
The signed, pseudonymous koma_viewer cookie identifies this browser profile for up to 390 days. It prevents repeated openings from inflating views, supports one rating per series and lets us count unique browsers without an account. It contains no name, email, Discord identifier or IP address.
Session storage creates a random 30-minute audience session so that page views, entry pages and navigation depth can be measured. It is isolated from your KOMA account and is removed when the browser session ends.
First-party audience measurement
KOMA records the visited pathname without its query string, the referring hostname and path when supplied by the browser, whitelisted UTM campaign fields, broad device/browser/operating-system families, language and Cloudflare country code. Raw user agents and IP addresses are not stored in audience records. A one-way network hash expires from the rate limiter after ten minutes.
KOMA may also record chapter starts, the 25%, 50% and 90% reading milestones, completion, next-chapter actions, follows, shares, Discord-link clicks and browser-reported LCP, INP and CLS performance measurements. These events use the same pseudonymous browser and session identifiers and never contain manga page text.
Duplicate-prevention identifiers for page views are removed after two days, detailed referring paths after 30 days, and pseudonymous session, browser, interaction and performance records after 390 days. Anonymous daily totals may be kept longer for historical trend reporting.
This privacy-safe measurement runs independently of advertising consent. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable it automatically.
Advertising choice
Advertising is supplied by Adsterra. Its scripts may use cookies, local storage, IP address, device and browser information to deliver, limit, personalize and measure advertisements.
Adsterra scripts are not loaded until you select ‘Tout accepter’. Selecting ‘Tout refuser’ leaves advertising disabled and does not prevent you from reading.
Changing your choice
Your advertising choice is stored locally under koma_consent_v2. Use ‘Gérer les cookies’ in the footer at any time to refuse future advertising loads or grant consent. Browser settings can be used to remove cookies already placed by third parties.
